Good Evening Foodies!
Our chapter about Fast Food is almost finished, and a part of our chapter is about the local stores and the different kinds of food that are provided at schools or universities. We felt the "urgent" need to test a few of the stores in our school's neighborhood, and, after two minutes of walking, the first shop popped up. The Lidl is so close to our school that many pupils go there, when they haven't got much time. However, since the Jumbo and Albert Heijn provide "frikandelbroodjes" and a bigger variety of products, almost every child walks or cycles a few minutes longer to find the other stores.
After a few minutes, we decided to really test out the stores and in order to do that, we bought our selves a delicious bag of crispy Doritos.
they tasted very well.

Pasta
with tomato sauce, caramelized onions and salami
This
is such a comforting meal, very satisfying, but without the guilt!
What you will need(dinner for four)
·
400 g of pasta

·
Bottle of passata(tomato sauce)
·
About a handful of turkey salami,
sliced
·
1 red onion sliced in rings
·
1 clove of garlic, finely
sliced(little tip, crush it, then slice it. This way is faster and easier)
·
2 tablespoons of sugar
·
Oregano and basil
·
Salt and pepper
-
First fill a big pan (with a
lid) with water, add some salt and bring to the boil.
-
Then heat a large saucepan(on a
low heat) and then some olive oil. Sauté the onion rings for a few minutes on a
medium heat, add some sugar and wait until the onions are caramelized.
-
Then add the salami, and
finally the garlic. Once you can see the garlic has softened and it smells
amazing, add the passata and stir the sauce. Turn the heat down to low, and put
a lid on the pan.
-
Now, in big pan, in the boiling
water, add the pasta. Wait until the water is boiling again and just cook the
pasta as long as it says on packing.
-
Taste the sauce, add the oregano
and basil. Turn of the heat and season with salt and pepper.
-
Drain the pasta, add it to the
sauce. Serve with some parmesan, some extra fresh basil leaves and eat quickly!
We hope you like it!

We are very excited to introduce our first recipe! This is a recipe for mozzarella salad.
What you need:
-
Tomatoes
-
Mozzarella
-
Basil
-
Garlic
-
Balsamic vinegar
-
Olive oil
-
Salt and pepper to taste
- Firstly, slice the tomatoes any way you want to. Sprinkle some salt over the tomatoes and put them in a sieve, so you can drain some of the water in the tomatoes(this way you will gain taste). Then pour some balsamic vinegar over the tomatoes, and put them in a bowl with pepper and garlic(finely sliced).
- Slice some basil leaves and tear up the mozzarella. Sprinkle salt and pepper over the mozzarella.
- Finally you lay the tomatoes on a plate, pour over some balsamic vinegar again, sprinkle some salt and olive oil over the tomatoes. Lay the mozzarella and basil on the plate too, pour over some olive oil for a final touch.
We hope you like it!

Hello fellow Foodies!
Unfortunately, our last few weeks were filled up with books and tests and did not include any time for us to work on our project. Now that the test-week is done, we can start posting again!
For our project, we have made a questionnaire/survey on what the eating habits of students in the Netherlands are. Would you guys be so kind to fill this in?
